Under normal conditions your Zircon® product's battery will last about two years. But when the time comes, replacing it couldn't be easier. The procedure is the same across all new EDGE and E-model stud finders.
Open the battery compartment door on the back and remove the dead battery, if applicable. Insert a new 9-Volt battery, matching the positive and negative terminals to the icons printed on the back.
Snap the battery into place and replace the battery compartment door. Do not attempt to unscrew the back.
Under normal conditions your Zircon® product's battery will last about two years. But when the time comes, replacing it couldn't be easier. As an added bonus, we designed this procedure to be consistent through our entire product line so you'll only need to learn it once.
Your device's battery compartment cover doubles as a belt clip. We designed it to be intentionally tight so it won't accidentally pop open during normal usage. Grasp the unit by the sides of the handle or the base. If you hold down on the belt clip, you won't be able to remove it.
Using your other hand, press the lip of the battery cover up about 2 mm. If you find it difficult to lift the lip of the battery cover with your thumb, try using a flat tip screw driver. Place the screwdriver under the lip and push up to unsnap the cover from the handle.
Once the tab is lifted, the cover will pop open. You can then slide the battery cover off.
Remove the dead 9-volt battery from the compartment and dispose of it properly. Slide a fresh 9-volt battery into the compartment, terminal side first, matching (+) and (-) terminals from battery to case.
The cover slides back on just as it was removed and snaps securely into place.
NOTE: Do NOT unscrew the back of the unit. This will release the essential components inside your Zircon® product and may cause it to work improperly.
